INSTRUCTIONAL AND MULTIMEDIA DEVELOPMENT UNIT

INTRODUCTION

UIDM (Unit for Instructional Development & Multimedia) is a support unit that provides services and loans of audio-visual equipment plus multimedia technology at PUO. Among the many functions and tasks of UIDM is to offer video services such as Multiple Camera Production and Single Camera Production, audio recording services, photography, and graphics designing for activities that use official PUO and department. UIDM also provides services in terms of technical assistance to PBU staff in the production of eLearning learning materials per the requirements of the eLearning Policy Countries and the 9th Leap of the Malaysian Education Development Plan (Higher Education).

FUNCTION

Instructional Development And Multimedia Unit (UIDM) provide the best service to all users in fulfilling and realizing the mission and vision of Balik Pulau Polytechnic. Among the services provided by UIDM is:-

1. Provide audio-visual equipment services.

• Provide audio-visual system services for programs

official polytechnic, teaching, and learning lectures, and programs at the level of departments and ministries as well as the outside community if needed.

• Provide installation, wiring, and testing services for audio-visual equipment.
• Provide audio-visual equipment loan services.
• Provide copy service of multimedia materials.
• Provide audio-visual equipment maintenance services.

2. Provide production of P&P and non-P&P materials based on multimedia technology.

• Provide video recording services.
• # SCP – Single Camera Production / MCP – Multiple Camera Production
• Provide videography filming services.
• Provide audio recording services.
• Provide editing services for audio and video recordings.

3. Provide guidance services in multimedia technology applications.

• Give explanations and work steps for the use of audio equipment.
• Provide explanations and work steps for using video equipment.

4. Provide photography services.
5. Provide graphic design services.
