RESIDENTIAL COLLEGE UNIT

INTRODUCTION
Ungku Omar Polytechnic Residential College Unit is responsible for providing accommodation facilities for Ungku Omar Polytechnic students (PUO). PUO provides two (2) residential college units known as Old Residential College and PFI Residential College. Built-in 1987, Old Residential College is the first student residential college built in PUO, and it consists of eight (8) building blocks in total. This residential college can accommodate a total of 670 residents at any one time. The PFI Residential College was later built and operated in 2016 through the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) method. This residential college consists of five (5) blocks which are Ruby Block (Students), Emerald Block (Students), Pearl Block (Students), Gold Block (Students), and Diamond Block (Students). The PFI Student Residential College can accommodate a maximum capacity of 2,500 residents per semester.

PFI Student Residence College facilities are given priority to new students (Semester 1) and Semester 2 students, while Old Residence College is reserved for senior students and students in need.

RESIDENTIAL COLLEGE UNIT FUNCTIONS
• Managing an effective and efficient Residential College Management Unit file system
• Ensuring the provision of dormitory rooms for the accommodation of Ungku Omar Polytechnic students
• Managing PUO and PFI dormitory room keys.
• Inspect the furniture in the dormitory room to be in good condition and safe to use
• Updating the Residential College residents’ information in the e-Kamsis system
• Manage student placement applications in residential colleges.
• Provide facilities and a comfortable and conducive environment for students.
• Guide by creating understanding through the implementation of student activities.
• Monitor and help maintain the safety and welfare of students.
