Course Description

SYNOPSIS

The Diploma in Geomatics study program is designed to equip students with the theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and behaviours required in the field of land surveying or geomatics. The teaching and learning activities of this study program are carried out on campus and in surveying sites/fields that cover the scope of work in the geomatics and geospatial industry which includes aspects of measurement and positioning techniques, geospatial data insight, measurement data processing, and analysis as well as mapping learned in Cadaster Survey, Survey Calculation, Engineering Survey, Hydrographic Survey, Utility Mapping, Geodesy, Astronomy, Survey Adjustment, CADD, Geographic Information System (GIS), Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Cartography, Land Law, Land Management and Development.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

SPM graduate

1. Malaysian
2. Have SPM or equivalent
3. Pass Malay
4. Pass History (SPM 2013 and above)
5. Pass English
6. Get THREE (3) honours in the following subjects:
1. Mathematics
2. ONE (1) Science/Technical/Vocational/STEM Elective subject
3. ONE (1) other subjects that has not been taken into account
7. Candidates do not have visual (blindness), hearing, physical, or learning disabilities that make practical work difficult

Graduates other than SPM

1. Malaysian
2. Passed Certificate level studies recognized by MQA/COPTA/Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 3 in related fields
3. Pass SPM with ONE (1) credit in any subject
4. Candidates do not have visual (blindness), hearing, physical, or learning disabilities that make practical work difficult.
