SYNOPSIS

The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive) at the Department of Polytechnic Education, Ministry of Education Malaysia is designed to cover a broad discipline in the Field of Mechanical Engineering with additional specialization subjects in the Field of Automotive Engineering. The core courses offered include Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Drawing, Workshop Technology, Computer-Aided Design, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering Workshop 1, Electrical Technology, and Strength of Material. Specialization courses like Automotive Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering Workshop Practice, Automotive Electrical and Electronics, Internal Combustion Engine, Vehicle Dynamic, Workshop service Management and Final Project.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

SPM graduate

1. Malaysian
2. Have SPM or equivalent
3. Pass Malay
4. Pass History (SPM 2013 and above)
5. Pass English
6. Get THREE (3) honours in the following subjects:
1. Mathematics
2. ONE (1) Science/Technical/Vocational/STEM Elective subject
3. ONE (1) other subjects that has not been taken into account
7. Candidates do not have visual (blindness, colour blindness), hearing, physical, or learning disabilities that make practical work difficult

Graduates other than SPM

1. Malaysian
2. Passed MQA-recognized Certificate level studies/Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 3 in a related field
